Bartok - Violin Concertos 1 & 2 - Kyung Wha Chung, Georg Solti

Review:

Kya Whun Chung's recordings of Bartok's violin concertos may be the best I've heard, replete with dramatic, fiery bowing from the violinist. The second violinBéla Bartók in 1927 concerto is now acknowledged as one of the finest works in 20th Century music,  but the first concerto is an intriguing work too. Chung's performance of the second concerto is a marvelous demonstration of her splendid technical skills, coupled with passionate, often rhapsodic, playing. In both works she is blessed in having Sir Georg Solti as her collaborator, leading the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra in dazzling, brilliant performances.
